This Do-it-Yourself program is designed for both pre-marital couples as well as couples who are in a committed relationship (married or not).
In this 5-week program, you will receive one lesson each week as follows:
In addition to reading the material and viewing the videos provided, you will be guided to do private journaling as well as private and shared exercises to reflect on and observe the dynamics of your marriage. You will also be given ongoing practices to integrate into your daily life.
1. On a scale of 1-10 (1 = not at all and 10 = totally) how emotionally safe do you feel with your partner? What made you choose that number?
If your answer was 7 or less, being as specific as possible, describe at least three examples of when you find yourself not feeling safe to be completely vulnerable with your partner.
If your answer was 8 or more, identify at least three things that you and your partner do to maintain a safe emotional environment in your marriage.
2. On a scale of 1 (awful) to 10 (couldn’t be better) how well do you think you and your partner are doing in terms of loving, honoring and cherishing each other? Why did you choose this number?
3. What specifically do you think you and your partner need to do differently to improve your level of commitment to your marriage?
